Show your working in theory questions
Examiners give marks for method, so a wrong final answer can still score.
Method marks
In theory (essay) questions, marks are usually given for correct steps, not only for the final answer. An answer with no working can lose marks even when it is right.
If you make a small slip, clear working can still earn you most of the marks.
Make your working easy to follow
Write one step per line, with the equals signs lined up. State the formula before you use it. Label diagrams. Write units in the answer.
Show the numbers you put into your calculator, e.g. 'A = 227 × 72 = 154 cm2'.
