Mix your topics
Mixed practice teaches you to recognise which method a question needs, just like the exam.
The exam doesn't tell you the topic
In class, all the exercise questions on page 50 use the method from page 49. In the exam, you must work out which method each question needs.
Practising a mix of topics (called interleaving) trains that skill. It feels harder, but research shows it leads to better exam results.
How to mix
After learning a new topic, do a few questions on it, then mix in questions from older topics. Mock exams and mixed practice do this for you.
